This work comes from the Waltja Collective—a group of talented local Aboriginal artists who paint together to support their community. Each artist is paid for their contribution, and the profits from every sale go directly into Waltja’s Emergency Relief Fund and other programs that help women and families in Central Australia.
Our diary covers begin their life as offcuts from the making of traditional canvas swags — the tough camping rolls used across the outback. Instead of being discarded, these premium canvas pieces are sewn into sturdy diary covers by a local swag maker using strong cotton stitching. Once the covers are made, Waltja artists hand-decorate each one, bringing culture, colour, and story to every piece. No two are ever the same.
