"Family News" is a magazine by our Indigenous Media Team, which provides on-the-job training for young people to develop their skills in desktop publishing, photography, customer service and financial management.
Waltja actively engages with communities to build relationships and provide essential support through a variety of workshops. These initiatives occur monthly across all of our programs and focus on current issues.
Waltja offers a variety of community capacity-building workshops designed to empower individuals and families while encouraging positive change. Each program focuses on specific themes, addressing community needs through collaboration and cultural engagement. For example, wellness workshops focus on mental health, while skill development workshops include activities like bike repairs and crafting. Awareness workshops address substance use and resilience. Traditional knowledge workshops teach local customs, and financial literacy programs support informed decision-making.
